Climate Friendly Sheep Farming

Breakout Tent

Centred on new research carried out by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) the session will explore the impact of sheep farming on our climate with a particular focus on the extent to which wool and its products act as a carbon sink. It will then go on to consider the practical steps sheep farmers can take to adapt their systems to reduce their impact on the climate through the selection of appropriate breeds, modifying diets, improving welfare and altering breeding practices.
