Conservation Agriculture & Sustainable Farming Systems -Practical Adoption on Farm & Fitting Within the Direction of Evolving Government Policy

As the UK population increases and the area of land available to produce good quality food is in decline, there continues to be a demand to produce more from less. The use of new approaches will support growers to become more resilient and sustainable, but we also need to look after and improve the wider farmed environment. The Conservation Agriculture and Sustainable Farming Systems project is a 5 year partner-led European project that examines the entire cereals-based rotation on a field scale. This project combines the conservation agricultural principles with the holistic gathering of a wide range of economic, agronomic and environmental parameters to support practical adoption on the ground, while shaping future policy objectives of “more food, less impact”.
