Benedikt Bösel is an agricultural economist and the founder and managing director of Gut&Bösel – a regenerative farm near Berlin. In addition to the operation of organic agriculture and forestry, in 2021 Bösel founded the Finck foundation. Its mission is to test and develop different forms of multifunctional land use – such as agroforestry, holistic grazing and syntropic agriculture. Furthermore the estate is offering testing grounds for agricultural startups and research projects to collect data and develop new technology and software.
Bösel is convinced that multifunctional land use systems can directly address some of the most pressing issues of our time – from climate change and loss of biodiversity to global hunger, equality and health.
Facing the challenges of climate change on the dry and sandy soils of their farm east of Berlin, Benedikt Bösel and his team have adapted different methods of regenerative agriculture such as holistic grazing, syntropic agroforestry and composting.
