The need for timely and relevant research to support the transition to regenerative farming at a scale that can restore biodiversity and reverse climate change, while still producing sufficient food, is a major challenge. Farmers leading innovation across the regenerative agriculture movement often move faster than research can validate new developments.
This session will highlight three research projects (AgZero+, Fix Our Food, and H3) which are co-designing studies with farmers, to respond directly to some current challenges that farmers face in transitioning to regenerative agriculture. These projects provide evidence on the impacts of regenerative farming methods on greenhouse gas emissions, carbon stocks, pollution risks, crop quality and biodiversity, defining practical pathways to achieving net zero+.
