Making Public Procurement workable: selling through food hubs

Soil Tent

Agroecological farmers & growers are often blocked from public procurement contracts partly because of the admin involved & partly because they cannot individually meet the quantity requirements of public sector buyers. The Procurement For Good project is funded by the Economic & Social Research Council, and is running in 4 UK areas to link up agroecological producers, food hubs & procurement contracts. This session will hear from some of the producers & hub managers involved. We will also hear about Bridging The Gap, a project demonstrating ways to enable people on a low income to access climate and nature friendly food.
