David farms 320 ha in Oxfordshire, with a true mixed farming rotation. The benefits of this can be seen in the soil health, producing crops which yield well in excess of what would normally be expected on similar soils but with relatively low inputs. Similarly, the farm’s animals have a very low need for antibiotics, anthelmintics or other inputs. Relying on rotation to reduce reliance on ‘modern’ inputs, resistance just doesn’t feature or the farms radar or concern David as a future issue.
