Matt is interested in ways to improve the sustainability of livestock production by increasing delivery of ecosystem services from farmland. His research focuses on incorporating trees into sheep and cattle farming systems (silvopasture) and other farm management practices that increase soil carbon whilst continuing food production, such as re-integrating leys into arable rotations.
