Henrietta Inman is a baker, cook, landworker, and author. She is the founder of Wakelyns Bakery, a 100% UK grain wholemeal sourdough bakery at Wakelyns Organic Agroforestry farm, the home of the genetically diverse YQ population wheat. The bakery’s mission is to ‘create delicious food for our community with the beautiful diverse abundance blossoming around us ’. That’s exactly what they do, using the produce from the arable alleys and tree lines of the agroforestry, and from other traceable agroecological sources. She believes that an agroecological transition, rooted in interdependence, justice, and love, has the potential to change us and our world for the better.
In March 1994 the first trees of Wakelyns Agroforestry were planted to begin fulfilling the vision of Professor Martin Wolfe and his wife Ann for a sustainable and adaptable farming model based on agroforestry to challenge the status quo of prevailing intensive monoculture.
