Elysia Bartel

Elysia Bartel is a research entomologist at ADAS with ten years’ experience in farming. Elysia specialises in Integrated Pest Management and plant health in horticultural and forestry crops. Elysia’s research has focused on use of novel IPM techniques to benefit biodiversity and improve control of common and emerging pests. Elysia is passionate about encouraging natural predators and parasitoids on farms. Elysia is skilled in microscopic identification and works closely with growers to identify pest problems and develop solutions. Prior to working for ADAS, Elysia managed a 50-ha organic vegetable farm, following a two-year Soil Association Future Growers apprenticeship.
