Steve is an Agricultural Sciences lecturer at Hartpury University, where he manages the BSc Agricultural Science, BSc Agriculture with Livestock Science and BSc Agriculture with Crop Science degree programmes. His teaching is in the fields of sustainable agriculture, sheep, pig and poultry production. Prior to him becoming a lecturer in 2019, he ran his own sheep grazing enterprise, managing a flock of 500 “Exlana” ewes on short term lets, producing fat lambs on a minimal input, outdoor lambing system. Alongside this, he has also worked in pig genetics for PIC and worked in a large broiler hatchery for Faccenda (now Avara). His passion is for furthering the understanding of agricultural science, and to this end undertakes regular outreach and knowledge exchange sessions both in schools and within the agriculture industry.
