Photosynthesis is the largest process on earth and critically important to agricultural production systems. Primarily using plants and their roots where ever possible, energy can be delivered into the system providing better soil structure allowing gas exchanges and water movement both critical to photosynthesis. This along with understanding and providing the correct mineral balances can provide the best opportunity for healthy crops. The session will explore the components, sunlight, air, water and minerals, of photosynthesis with key scientific findings and practical steps to manage crops and productions systems.
