Amy took part in Dyson Farming’s first Summer Series in 2023 after graduating from University of Leicester with first-class honours in BA Business Management. Coming from a non-farming background, Amy was inspired to be part of the agricultural industry because of her love of the outdoors. Her dissertation focused on agricultural government policies and their impact on farmers which was a first for the city University. Whilst looking for potential work experience opportunities and entry points into the industry, Amy came across the Summer Series work experience programme which provided the foundations for entering the industry. Amy is now part of the Dyson Farming Communications Team based in Lincolnshire and works across a range of commercial diversification and public engagement projects. Amy strives to continue her career in the agricultural industry and would like to encourage those who also come from non-farming background that there are farms willing to invest their time into them to support this journey.
