Janet Dwyer OBE

Janet Dwyer OBE is Professor of Rural Policy at the Countryside and Community Research Institute, University of Gloucestershire. Janet served as President of the UK Agricultural Economics Society 2021-22, and Directed the CCRI for 10 years. Her current research includes supporting rural resilience through the agricultural transition, understanding innovation in rural enterprise, and international comparative work on cultural landscapes. She Chairs Defra’s Nutrient Management Expert Group, is a Director of Rural England CIC and trustee of the Organic Research Centre, and advises the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission and Green Alliance. She was awarded an OBE in June 2022 for ‘services to rural research’.
