John Crawford is currently Emeritus Professor of Sustainability and Complex Systems at the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences at the University of Glasgow. Whilst developing and testing a new theory of soil as an integrated biophysical system, he has worked with the business sector for the past 9 years to co-create data- and technology-enabled solutions to restore soil health on a global scale to help mitigate and adapt to climate change and secure food and water. He is currently developing a digital platform to support a worldwide learning community co-created and co-owned by the world’s farmers.
