Workshop projects are the main appeal for readers of Practical Farm Ideas, the quarterly magazine founded and edited by Mike Donovan in 1992. Funded entirely through subscriptions – it has no advertising or sponsors – each issue since 2012 has a Soil+Cover Cropping section. Before going dairy farming Mike was an editor at the Financial Times and prior to that a consultant with the Economist Intelligence Unit. Mike’s aim is to lead farmers to think and learn about No-till through a non-specialist ideas publication with money-saving ideas on every page.
