Rob is an organic dairy farmer and Nuffield Scholar focused on soil carbon and herbal leys.
Rob started growing herbal leys in 2005 to increase pasture production for the dairy herd on a drought prone farm.
Rob then realised the importance of soil organic matter and its influence on soil structure and water management, developing a grazing system to improve his soils.
Farmers across the UK are rising to the challenges of increased fertiliser costs and extreme weather by diversifying their pastures.
