In 1996 Ruth completed a BSc Hons degree in International Business and embarked on a fourteen-year career in sales and marketing roles at Unilever and Sara Lee. She managed high profile customers and brands, notably Tesco, Radox, Ambi Pur and Sanex. This experience then became a strong foundation for her new career when in 2010 she decided to take on supermarkets and cofounded HISBE Food with her sister, Amy.

Ruth is a keen advocate of doing business for social benefit, beyond just making profit. Alongside running HISBE as Finance/Brand director, she cofounded The Good Business Club, in 2018. GBC connects entrepreneurs who are starting, running or growing a “business for good” with the support and resources they need. Ruth enjoys mentoring other change-making founders, to help them launch and run their own businesses for good.
