Sam is the Policy Lead for the Landscape Recovery scheme, responsible for overall scheme design including for round two (due to launch in spring 2023), and has been in this role for over 2 years. He previously worked in the EU Exit Fisheries Negotiations team, where he was the quota specialist. He was heavily involved in the UK-EU TCA negotiations, including the in-person negotiations in Brussels throughout December 2020. He studied Environmental Technology MSc at Imperial College London and a BSc in Economics at the University of Bristol. Sam has a strong interest in sustainable farming, forestry, fishing, conservation, and land use. He grew up on his family’s mixed livestock farm in the Peak District and now helps run various elements of the business.
