Sarah Evered has been the Deputy Director for Innovation, Production and Science in Defra since April 2024 and within this division since October 2019. Her remit includes oversight of the Farming Innovation Programme and the Farming Investment Fund, policy leadership to support the agri-tech sector, implementation of the Precision Breeding regulations, the food and farming science teams, farm tenancies and fair dealings (supply chain fairness) regulations.
