Tom Knowles has significantly redesigned the system at the family farm in South Oxfordshire, including bi-cropping with no pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, livestock integration into the arable fields, complementing it all with extensive stewardship and SFI agreements, and involvement in the local landscape recovery project. With a background in soils, Tom is also focussed on how high-quality on-farm composting can form an integral part of a whole farm system that prioritises plant and soil health for greater farm resilience and environmental benefit.
