Rob is a Principal Conservation Scientist at RSPB studying the effects of land management on the conservation of biodiversity. Initially this focussed on species such as Tree Sparrows and Skylarks, and the effects of land management, especially tillage, on birds. More recently, his research has broadened out into ecosystem service provision and the trade-offs inherent in land use decisions, particularly with respect to climate change mitigation and agriculture, from field to landscape scale.
