5 Year Results of Conservation Agriculture Project

Seminar Tent

The five year results of our long-term Conservation Agriculture trial, developing a scientific understanding of a combinable cropping system based on conservation ag principles to move toward a more sustainable rotation, primarily based on a comparison between conventional inversion tillage, minimum tillage and direct drilling systems. We have collected a huge amount of data to help farmers make informed decisions on the yield, environmental and climate impact of transitioning between different tillage techniques, and the use of cover cropping and continuous soil cover on both a heavy land site at GWCT Allerton Project in Leicestershire and a light land site at Lenham in Kent.
