The farm (thralesend.co.uk) transitioned to a regenerative system in 2014. A third of the farm’s area is now devoted to habitat creation. The ethos is on ‘placemaking’ and ‘learning’. Creating a vibrant and nourishing environment for crops, biodiversity, young people, events and small businesses. Ian is the founder of the UK’s National Farm Open day, Open Farm Sunday. He is also a Trustee of the Ernest Cook Trust and sits on The Food Ethics Council.
