Ian Pigott OBE, DL runs a diversified, farming business near Harpenden, Hertfordshire.

The farm transitioned to a regenerative system in 2014 with a third of the farms’ area devoted to stewardship. Balancing government policy with ambitions for more natural solutions to plant health the farm is the engine room for the business’ diversified enterprises.

The farm’s ethos is on ‘placemaking’ and ‘learning’. Creating a vibrant and nourishing environment for crops, biodiversity, young people and small businesses to be happy and thrive.

Ian is the founder of the UK’s National Farm Open day, Open Farm Sunday. He Chair’s The Farmschool, is a Trustee of the Ernest Cook Trust and sits on The Food Ethics Council. Ian is a columnist for the Farmers Weekly.
