Ian Pigott OBE, DL runs a diversified, farming business near Harpenden, Hertfordshire.
The farm transitioned to a regenerative system in 2014 with a third of the farms’ area devoted to stewardship.
The farm’s ethos is on ‘placemaking’ and ‘learning’. Creating a vibrant environment for crops, biodiversity, young people and small businesses to be nourished and thrive.
Ian is the founder of the UK’s National Farm Open day, Open Farm Sunday, and is a Trustee of LEAF.
Chair of The Farmschool. He is also a Trustee of the Ernest Cook Trust sits on The Food Ethics Council and is a columnist for the Farmers Weekly.
Ian was awarded an OBE for services to Agriculture and Education in the 2016 New Year’s Honours List.
