Mallika is a writer, commentator/presenter and board adviser/non executive director in food, drink and hospitality. She is the published author of two cookbooks (Miss Masala: Real Indian Cooking for Busy Living and Masala: Indian Cooking for Modern Living). Mallika writes an award-nominated newsletter More than Curry covering the link between food, people and planet, as well as recipes and stories on food and culture in other publications.

Mallika has over two decades of expeprience in board-level communications and strategic advisory. During the pandemic, she developed proprietary thinking for organisations and changemakers on navigating major cultural shifts, cultural sensitivity and establishing strong foundations in diversity, equity and inclusion thinking.

Her clients have included Sustainable Restaurant Association, Jamie Oliver Group and Waitrose. She supported the sensitive and respectful development of a new range of Cooks’ Ingredients at Waitrose and wrote Borough Market’s 2030 strategy. Mallika is a finale judge for the Guild of Fine Food’s Great Taste Awards, co-presents the awards ceremony and judges the ethical and sustainable category bursary annually.

Mallika was born in India, and moved to England for her undergraduate and masters degrees in Business Studies and Journalism. When not talking, writing or cooking, Mallika can be found diverting her teenage children away from UPFs in South London.
