Joe is an arable farmer in Nottinghamshire, growing combinable crops & maize across across predominantly tenanted land. Returning to the family farm in 2015, he began moving towards a more sustainable way of operating, starting with direct drilling but soon taking a whole farm approach in using cover & catch crops, lengthening rotations & reducing synthetic inputs. Field scale trials are undertaken to test new techniques or products, ensuring profitability is at the centre of the decision making process.
