Stuart Johnson is a mixed farmer from Northumberland. He has beef cattle and sheep, and some arable. He has used compost teas to get his soils more functional. He has been trained by Understanding Ag, and it applies their 6-3-4 principles on to his family farm. The family farm has moved from a conventional managed mixed farm to one focussed on reducing inputs as much as possible while increasing margins. He was soil farmer of the year in 2023.
