George Young returned to his family farm, Fobbing Farms in Essex, six years ago after a career in banking. He is motivated to create a genuinely bio-diverse ecological farming system with many crops (buckwheat, hemp and lentils are under trial) and livestock, as well as plenty of room for nature to breathe and play its part. Education is also a key driver for George who hopes that good farm & food education will lead to better diet and health for the population.
One of the barriers to moving towards more sustainable arable systems is finding a market for smaller volumes of diverse crops.
